Make Up On Empty Space

I think this poem trying to emphasize how people create on their own world around them. if we look closely there is a world with an empty space however we fill in this space according to how we wanted. The beginning of the poem starts with an explanation of a girl that the writer creates on her mind. then it goes into more detail including the world.

  1. You're on the right track; when the typical Western (i.e., American) consciousness is confronted with empty space, the urge is to fill it in--the poem tries to suggest the futility of this, as an end in itself.
