The Hitchhikers by wakoski
i believe she feels guilty about hitchhikers and she wanted to share that as a poem. she begins the poem with describing the hot weather, mountains, and people that she sees on road. actually this is a ordinary scene while you travel however i think she wanted to emphasize this with the poem.
